1. Introduction and our commitment

This privacy policy applies to the “Migrant-e-s Help” mobile application (Android / iOS), its related web application, and all associated services.

The application is published by the Association Pionniers du Changement pour le Développement et la Culture (PCDC), a Moroccan non-profit organization. Our mission is to help and support migrants. Your trust and the protection of your data are central to our commitment.

We commit to collecting only the minimum data strictly necessary for the functioning and improvement of our services, with full transparency.

3. What data do we process and why?

A. Information provided directly

When you contact us through a form, including for help requests or issue reports, we collect the information you choose to share with us.

• Collected data: name, email address, and message content.
• Purpose: to process your request, reply to you, and provide the support you need.
• Legal basis: our legitimate interest in providing effective user support.

B. Data collected automatically

In order for the application to function properly and be improved, some third-party services collect anonymous technical data.

• Location data (map): if you use the services map, the application uses your position to center the map and display relevant services via Mapbox. Your location is never collected, recorded, or stored on our servers.
• Usage data: anonymous statistics, such as frequently used features or session duration, collected via Google Analytics for Firebase to understand and improve the app.
• Device information: device model, operating system, and application version to diagnose and fix bugs.
• Notification data: a unique technical token linked to your device, collected by OneSignal in order to send important notifications.
• Anonymous technical identifiers:
  • Firebase instance identifier: an anonymous code used to distinguish installations without personally identifying you.
  • Advertising identifier: it may be collected by Firebase but is never used for advertising purposes; it is used only for anonymous analytics.
  • IP address: it may be processed temporarily by our partners for security reasons. For users in Europe, OneSignal is configured not to store it.

4. Data sharing

We never sell or share your data for commercial purposes. Any sharing is strictly limited to essential technical partners:

• Google LLC (Firebase & Google Analytics): performance analysis and diagnostic tools, operated in accordance with data protection requirements.
• OneSignal, Inc.: technical management of notification delivery.
• Mapbox, Inc.: mapping technology that displays nearby services, with temporary processing of location data.

These partners may process data on servers located outside Morocco, including in the United States, while committing to strict data protection frameworks when required.

5. Retention period

We keep data only for as long as necessary:

• Form information: deleted as soon as your request has been handled and resolved.
• Anonymous analytics data: retained for limited statistical analysis in accordance with our technical partners’ policies.

6. Security of your data

The security of your data is a priority. All information transmitted between the application and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. Access to data is strictly limited to authorized members of our team.

7. Your rights and choices

Under applicable law, you remain in control of your data:

• Right of access, correction, and deletion: contact us at contact@migranthelp.com to access your information, correct it, or request its deletion.
• Managing notifications: you can enable or disable notifications at any time in your phone settings.
• Managing the advertising identifier: you can reset or remove it in your device privacy settings.

8. Children’s privacy

Our application is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect information about them. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with information, please contact us immediately.

9. Advertising tracking and Apple App Tracking Transparency

Migrant-e-s Help does not track users across other companies’ apps or websites for advertising purposes. We do not display advertisements inside the application.

In line with Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework, we do not request tracking permission because we do not engage in advertising tracking. Technical data collected by Firebase Analytics is used solely to improve our services and is never shared with advertising networks.

10. Data deletion

Although the application does not require a user account, you may request the deletion of any technical data associated with your device at any time.

To make a deletion request, visit our data deletion page or email contact@migranthelp.com or contact@pionniers.ma. We will process your request within 30 business days.

11. Compliance with app store requirements

In the interest of transparency, we declare the following in our Google Play Store and Apple App Store listings:

• Data linked to you: none. The application does not link collected data to your identity.
• Data used for tracking: none. We do not track users across third-party applications.
• Data collected: anonymous device identifiers and diagnostic or performance data, solely to improve the application.

Common declarations (Apple & Google)

• Collection: device identifiers and performance data via SDKs such as Firebase, OneSignal, and Mapbox.
• Sharing: strictly limited to the technical partners listed above, never for commercial or advertising purposes.
• Security: data is encrypted in transit and we provide a clear way to request deletion.
• Deletion: users may request deletion of their data at any time via our data deletion page.

12. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated. In the event of a major change, we will make reasonable efforts to inform you directly through the application or via notification.
